Angela Crooks started coaching for WCRDC in 2011. She enjoys the challenge of coaching a group with a broad range of rowing abilities and fitness levels. The fact that many of the women row in competitive programs in the DC area in the morning, and then with WCRDC in the evening, reflects their commitment to the group. The participation of experienced rowers means that there are enough people to fill the boats, and they make it an enjoyable experience for the novice rowers. Angela enjoys the positive and supportive atmosphere of the group.
Angela learned to row at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She later picked up sculling at the Rocky Mountain Rowing Club in Denver, Colorado. Angela has rowed at Capital Rowing Club in Washington, DC and is currently an active member of Potomac Boat Club.
When not out in her single scull, Angela works on renewable energy issues.
